Synopsis: Powerful Presentations


Target Audience

This two-day workshop is designed for all people responsible for passing on information in a formal and informal sense and/or for delivering professional presentations.


Aim

The workshop aims to up-skill participants so that they are able to competently deliver high impact presentations.


Objectives

By the end of this workshop participants will be able to competently and effectively;

1. Prepare the learning environment/location as appropriate.
2. Provide a positive learning environment for participants.
3. Build rapport with groups.
4. Set a context for the presentation and/or learning event.
5. Apply structure to presentations and learning sessions.
6. Understand and communicate clearly the content of the presentation/training session.
7. Recognise different 'states' within groups and manage these to maximize presentation and learning.
8. Use at least three different activities to energize and engage participants.
9. Accommodate any learner special needs.
10. Use at least two rituals through the presentation.
11. Use a variety of learning activities to ensure key points are communicated effectively.
12. Use a variety of resources to create an interesting and stimulating learning environment.
13. Incorporate the five learning modalities into the presentation.
14. Debrief all learning activities to ensure lateral thinking and full understanding of the activities. Ensure participants relate these to their working environments.
15. Manage a group to ensure presentations are interactive, fun and effective.
16. Act with integrity and professionalism at all times.


Process

This is a very practical workshop designed to improve participant's presentation skills. Participants will be required to deliver a prepared 8-10 minute presentation and will receive feedback and coaching at the conclusion of their presentation. A brief will be sent to participants prior to the workshop outlining the requirements.
